No, feminism is not your enemy…

Written by Christina Margeti

Of course it is not, nor does it bag all men en masse and indiscriminately, it goes without saying, I like to think. Patriarchy, you know, oppresses not only us females, but also men to a very large extent, in fact. In general, this system oppresses all creatures on our planet. And that is precisely because it has filled them with fears and pressures about how a man should be, how he should think and behave.

Mindsets and stereotypes like that men don’t cry, don’t do “womanly” jobs, shouldn’t wear clothes with “womanly” colors, that to be very masculine they have to “go with” a lot of women, that they are not worthy if they don’t have a very expensive big car or if they don’t make a lot of money, or that a man is not a man if he doesn’t go hunting, for example, and many more, show exactly the enormous degree of oppression, brainwashing and psychological and emotional abuse, the manipulation they (especially men of previous generations) have been subjected to by this system we call patriarchy, a system that wants men to be dishonest, ruthless, capable of any evil, cruelty, insensitivity and inhumanity. It takes a lot of strength to develop your own, free critical thinking and to judge one by one all the things you were taught from the cradle. and it takes guts, it takes a conscience that is, questioning.

That’s where the real power is, not in the arms. In thinking, the soul, the will for self-improvement. The most essential change after all, always begins in the depths of ourselves. . So it is never too late, to develop free critical thinking. To review and become, the best versions of ourselves. There’s no shame in showing your feelings, your sensitivities. Nor is it shameful to be able to understand any mistakes, wrong decisions, perceptions, actions and to be able to consciously apologize when and where you need to.

There is no shame in being human, to have empathy and your own independent personality. The only shame, is not being human.
