Reiki, like other energy-based therapies, in no way replaces medical care and science. What energy therapies do is support us emotionally, psychologically, and energetically, meaning they strengthen us so that we can better cope with various situations with less stress. One can, alongside medical treatments and any medication they may be taking for a health condition, also have Reiki sessions if they wish, for psychological, energetic, and emotional strengthening and relaxation.
Reiki is based on a spiritual and philosophical approach that views a person as a whole of body, mind, and energy. According to this perspective, a person’s emotional and energetic state is connected to their overall well-being. Through the practice of Reiki, relaxation, inner balance, and psychological strengthening are sought. In no way does it replace medicine or any other science, but it can function as a supportive practice for wellness and stress reduction.
