Every being experiences what we call inner spirituality in a different way and has a different way of approaching and expressing it. The journey toward knowledge and evolution is, above all, an experience lived. Energy and the immaterial cannot be fully contained or expressed through human words, even though we constantly write entire texts about them.

Some time ago, a friend asked me how we can distinguish what is genuine from what is fake. It was a question I once had myself, many years ago. How do we recognize, for example, a truly trustworthy energy healer or, more generally, a genuine teacher or guide? How can we tell whether someone truly has a positive and luminous influence and presence in our lives?

The answer is simple: People are ultimately revealed through their actions and through the consequences of those actions. If, for example, you attend a session to address a personal issue of your own (an issue that concerns only you and always according to the law of harmlessness), but instead of improving, the situation worsens, then that should tell you something. In such a case, it would be wise to examine things more carefully and probably not continue with the same energy healer or teacher. Especially if this pattern repeats itself after every healing session, seminar, or similar experience.

The only thing that truly matters is actions and results. We should not focus on someone’s appearance or outward image, nor on beautiful words. These should never be our criteria when seeking a person to begin our sessions with. In general, it is best not to rely on appearances. Someone may speak eloquently about philosophy and spirituality, but if these words are not accompanied by consistent behavior and actions, they mean absolutely nothing. Anyone can present a “spiritual” image, wear new age clothing and amulets, grow long hair or beards, or take photographs in nature or embracing animals. Yet all of this is merely an image — and if it is not accompanied by genuine inner substance, it simply reveals hypocrisy or selfish intent.

At this point, I would also like to note that anyone who abuses their power — meaning they use it for harmful and negative purposes against others — will eventually lose it. They lose all the spiritual gifts they possess. This is a Spiritual Law, and it is important to remember it. Whatever kind of energy we project outward, through our thoughts, words, intentions, and actions, always returns to us. Therefore, it is wise not to send out energies that we would never wish to receive back ourselves.

There are also other troubling signs that may reveal something inauthentic, such as the absence of humility. What is genuine cannot help but be sincerely humble in its ways. A true teacher does not believe they are perfect. Not only because they understand that, as human beings, they are not infallible — unlike how Popes once arrogantly viewed themselves — but also because they know that as long as they live, they will continue learning. They understand that they still have things to learn even from their own students.

Virtues and gifts exist within every person. They may differ from one individual to another, but they are all valuable. Every being has their own unique gifts. All that remains is for them to discover them by walking the path of self-knowledge. After all, within us lie all the answers and everything we seek: love, health, prosperity, happiness, fulfillment, abundance — gifts, values, and blessings that every soul carries within itself, what we might call our birthrights. In essence, the “precious gem,” meditation, the pendulum, the universe… are all within us. They are our mind and its power.

By using these tools, however, we practice, work, and move forward. Every small step leads us smoothly to the next — toward growth and progress. From 1 we move to 2; we cannot jump directly to 3. Every step requires time, practice, and inner work with ourselves. Therefore, meditation, breathing exercises, energetic cleansing, positive affirmations — all of these are practical and useful tools, until eventually we come to understand that they all lead to the same conclusion: the power lies within us and not in external factors. In truth, the tool that activates all the other tools is our own mind, our thoughts, and our intention.

And this is what every well-intentioned teacher truly wishes to teach us: to believe in the power within ourselves. If, for example, you drink dirty and contaminated water, you will become ill. Exactly the same happens spiritually. That is why discernment and selectiveness are beneficial. Let us therefore always seek only the pure, familiar, genuine water — the kind that only the soul can recognize. And let us always listen to the voice within us. We should never ignore our intuition. Not only is it a shield against danger, but it is also our guidance. It reveals what is genuine and what is imitation; the real from the fake; essence from surface; the original from the mimicking copy; what is truly luminous from what merely pretends to be; wisdom from pseudo-wisdom.
